Differentiation with Technology

There are multiple technology experiences that students will have during the three-day remediation lesson. Some of those include: Really Great Reading Playground, FlipGrid, and Google Slides. The Really Great Reading Playground program will be used for students to practice the skills that they were working on during the lesson. This program will allow them to interact with the content in a fun way using games and activities. FligGrid will be used for students to record themselves so they and the teacher can hear their fluency. Having students record themselves helps student hear their tone and voice, and it also makes it easy for teachers to see how all of their students' fluency is progressing (King, 2016). Google Slides will give students the opportunity to show what they know in a different way. They will also need to apply what they know about short vowel sounds to the words that they created for fun as a class.      With technology, there are some probl...

Designing a Differentiated Lesson Plan Reflection

Reflection  Instruction Strategies       When creating this lesson, one of my main goals was being able to incorporate different learning styles. The kinesthetic learning style is incorporated in the anticipatory step and in the graphic organizers. Kinesthetic learning focuses on tactile learning and being able to physically move things around or organize materials (Houghton University, n.d.). In the anticipatory step, students will be able to manipulate and move the objects around. For visual learners, they are able to use graphic organizers and take notes. For auditory learners, they will be able to participate in discussions and listen to the reading.           For readiness, I know that this is a standard that students are continuing to work on by finding the main idea. It also is an activity that they have been working on with my mentor teacher. They have been analyzing different informational text, but may need some supports ...

Learning Style Analysis

Learning Style Analysis Learning Styles and Developmental Domains     Developmental domains include cognitive, linguistic, social, emotional, and physical development, which happen in adolescences and has a role in influencing children's experiences and environments (Future Learn, n.d.). Learning styles and developmental domains are interconnected because they are both influencing the ways that students learn and have experiences. If a student has a learning style that they prefer, that may be present in the way that they interact with others, and the way they cognitively think about and perceive things around them.  I can also see that the way they grew up and learned these developmental domains, may affect the way they prefer learning now. For example, if they have learned in the past by hearing stories from their families or friends, they may prefer auditory learning. If they had any delays in their development, they may enjoy tactile learning where they are able...
